WHAT IS ALPHA BRAINWAVES? WHAT IS BENEFITS OF ALPHA BRAINWAVE

UNDERSTANDING ALPHA BRAIN WAVE

About Brain Waves
The four types of brain waves occur during different times of day, depending on what you are doing and how you are feeling.

Your brain waves are related to different states of consciousness.

Each brain wave is measured based on number of pulses, or hertz, per second.

Beta brain waves, which are emitted at a frequency of between 13 and 30 hertz, occur when you are alert and actively engaged in activity, such as when you're at work.

Alpha brain waves, which are around eight to 13 hertz, usually occur when you are feeling relaxed, happy and in a positive mood, such as when you're doing something you enjoy or makes you feel peaceful.

Theta brain waves, between 4 and 7 hertz, are slower and are produced during light sleep and deep meditation.

Delta brain waves, less than 4 hertz, occur during dreamless sleep.

(7 to 14 Hz relaxed yet aware, meditative)

These are lower frequency waves. The state is generated when our thoughts are really not concentrated and our minds wander freely, or we are in a relaxed state such as meditating or daydreaming.

We also experience Alpha Brainwaves when we are gently busy with routine tasks like pottering in the garden, taking a shower, putting on makeup, doing light housework.

Alpha is considered to be the bridge between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

Facts About Alpha Waves

Alpha brain waves occur when you are alert and conscious yet in a state of relaxation and calmness.

In this state, you are more easily able to access creative ideas.

Your right brain is most active when alpha waves are emitted and your left brain is most active when beta waves are produced.

When the two hemispheres of your brain are synchronized, you are able to operate in a state of calm awareness.
